Server Rules (Last updated May 25, 2018):
Thank you for joining the community! First a couple ground rules. Every player is required to read the server rules and may NOT claim ignorance as an excuse. These rules are in place to keep gameplay fair and fun. Failure to comply with the rules outlined on this page may result in permanent ban from the server(s). We trust you will follow the rules and look forward to seeing you on the ARK.
I. Zero Tolerance for Racist / Hate Speech: ARK has its enjoyable moments and certainly many frustrating ones. With that said, it is NOT acceptable to use racist / hate speech towards other players and doing so will result in being banned from the server.
II. NO CHEATING: Any player caught using hacks, exploits, or bots will be permanently banned.
III. No Spamming Chat: Players rely on chat for global and local communication. Spamming chat with lengthy, or repeated, messages unrelated to the game will NOT be tolerated.
IV. Griefing / Harassing Other Players: ARK provides many options for dealing with enemies; however, some players may take it too far and maliciously prevent a player from actually playing the game. This is very subjective and Admin discretion will be used in handling griefers. In most instances, we will ask the community to vote and pass sentence to alleged griefers. This may include temporary ban, destruction of structures, losing tames, etc. The following are a few rules players should follow to prevent being accused of griefing.
a. A player may NOT be imprisoned for more than 1-hour during a RAID and no more than 15 minutes in open world PVP. Violators will receive a life sentence. ;)
b. Do NOT repeatedly kill new players (defined as any player under level 30) at spawn points without provocation. i.e. A level 70 player generally shouldn’t have a reason to use their Ptera to pick up a newly spawned level 3 player and drop him/her to their death. If the lower level player attacks first, then feel free to proceed.
c. Do NOT spam structures throughout the map to prevent other players from building, valuable resources from spawning, accessing critical locations such as caves or obelisks.
d. Do NOT repeatedly raid the same person over and over again once defeated.
*Griefing is somewhat subjective and admins do NOT have time investigate everything. Instead, we will rely on the community for evidence and feedback. If the community decides that a person is toxic and not a good fit, that person will be removed from the cluster.
V. Player, Tame, and Tribe Names:
a. Your tribe name must be the same on all servers in a cluster.
b. Names should not contain racist words or hate speech.
c. You may only have ONE character per cluster (NOT one character per server) and must keep same character when transferring between servers.
VI. Areas Off Limits for Building / Special Rules
a. Players may NOT block Obelisks. Structures doing so will be destroyed.
b. Players may NOT block access artifact caves. Consequence the same as above.
c. Tribes may build in/on or block major resource nodes excluding any location that will block access to artifacts. If a tribe chooses to build in/on a major resource node, they will NOT be allowed to use ORP anywhere at that location. In addition, standard raid rules will not apply and any opposing tribe(s) in the community may raid that location without cool down. Opposing tribe(s) will also be allowed to wipe all structures in the resource rich area to reclaim the resource node. Opposing tribes must seek admin approval to verify that the location is in fact a major resource node before standard raid rules will be suspended. If you are unsure about a potential base location, please post on discord or DM an admin.
VII. Tribe Limits: Tribe limits are in place to prevent a single mega tribe from controlling the server and force tribes to use skill over numbers. Attempting to circumvent tribe limits via alliances may result in destruction of all tribe structures or server ban. Tribes may only use support from a single ally to RAID or defend a base.
VIII. Advertising: Do NOT advertise other servers. Doing so may result in a permanent ban.
IX. SERVER WIPE: From time to time, the community may decide to wipe the server/cluster allowing all players to start at 0 and provide balanced competition. The community must vote with a 75% majority (qualified voters) for a server/cluster wipe to take place. Players must be active in the community for at least 60-days to be considered a qualified voter. In extreme situations in which the server may be corrupted / unplayable, admins may decide to execute an early wipe.
X. Base / Outpost Rules: Each tribe is allowed 1x base, 1x outposts, 1x water pen, and up to 2x rafts / motorboats per map.
a. Outposts may be up to 8x8x12 (8 foundations x 8 foundations x 12 walls high)
b. CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR SELF!!! Taming pens / any structures outside main base may not be left in open world. If using taming pens, remove them when done. Failure to do so will result in structure wipe for offending tribe.
c. Turrets (including species X) are NOT allowed outside of main base / outpost / water pen. Exception: Players may use turrets as part of FOB during raids. Players may use manned turrets (NOT AUTO) on dino platform saddles. Auto turrets may be used on dino platform saddles; however, they can NOT target players / tames.
XI. RAIDING RULES
a. Tribes may only use 1 ally to RAID or DEFEND a base.
b. Foundation wiping / unnecessary destruction outside of what is needed to loot a base is NOT allowed. Attacking tribe is allowed to loot all crafting stations, storage, players, and dinos. Note: Killing passive tames is allowed; HOWEVER, if an attacking tribe wipes a defending tribe’s passive dinos, the community may vote to remove attacking tribe’s right to a RAID cooldown and all tribes in the cluster are free to help retaliate and attack the offender with no cool down limitations.
c. If a tribe is successfully raided, they may request admin protection for up to 7-days to rebuild. Tribes with the prefix “SAFE” cannot PVP or RAID nor be attacked. Should a tribe violate this rule, they will be banned from the cluster. If a tribe adds the “SAFE” prefix to tribe name without admin approval, they will be banned. The “SAFE” prefix must be removed before any PVP / RAIDING. Once a tribe removes the “SAFE” prefix from their tribe name it can NOT be re-added.
A RAID will be considered successful if the attacking tribe is able to breach defending tribes main base.
d. Should a defending tribe attempt to log off during a RAID to activate ORP and do not return within 20-minutes (Within warmup timer for ORP); they will be required to add the prefix “COWARD” to their tribe name for 14-days. Multiple offenses may be considered griefing and the community may choose to ban the player / tribe from the PVP cluster.
e. NEVER raid any admin structures. Doing so WILL result in a structure wipe for your tribe and steam ID being banned from the cluster.
f. AGAIN.... NEVER raid any admin structures. Doing so WILL result in a structure wipe for your tribe and steam ID being banned from the cluster.
g. ONE MORE TIME.... NEVER raid any admin structures. Doing so WILL result in a structure wipe for your tribe and steam ID being banned from the cluster.
XII. IMPORTANT RULES ABOUT RESOURCES
a. DO NOT DROP WYVERN / ROCK DRAKE EGGS TO BLOCK SPAWNS. EAT THEM IF YOU NEED TO SHED THE WEIGHT. FIRST OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN LOSING A DINO (ADMIN’S CHOICE). SECOND OFFENSE = COMPLETE TRIBE WIPE. THIRD OFFENSE = GTFO
b. EMPTY BEAVER DAMS: Make sure to completely empty beaver dams. THIS INCLUDES WOOD! They will not respawn otherwise. Violators will have to face the wrath of the community. Admins will not protect you.
XIII. NEW PLAYERS
a. New players/tribes may request New Player Protection when joining the server. This allows the player up to 7-days to get established without being attacked in open world / raided. To receive protection please post your request in the #support channel and include your character and tribe name. Once approved, you may change your tribe name to include the prefix “[SAFE]” excluding the quotes.
b. Players with the [SAFE] prefix are NOT allowed to PVP until the tribe name is changed to remove the prefix. Doing so will forfeit protection.
c. Players caught changing tribe names to include the [SAFE] prefix without Admin permission will be banned.
d. Attacking a player with the [SAFE] tag in their Tribe name MAY result in a ban. Mistakes can happen, but if evidence shows a player is griefing new players, the offending player will be banned.
XIV. OFFLINE Guard System (ORP)
a. Each tribe is allowed up to 3x ORP devices (Offline Guard System). This is a configured setting and placing any shields beyond the first three should not work. In the event a player uncovers a bug that allows the placement of more than 3x ORP (Offline Guard System), the player will make sure to remove any additional shields.
b. ORP range should be set only large enough to protect your base structures and dinos. Do NOT set the range larger than it needs to be.
c. If a tribe doesn't log into the server within 10-days of ORP being activated, it will automatically deactivate. This is a setting configuration.
d. Placing dinos in another tribes base while they are offline is griefing and may result in a ban, structure/dino wipe, etc.
a. Insiding will NOT be tolerated. If a player joins a tribe to sabotage that tribe, they will be banned permanently from the cluster.
a. No blocking main passage ways to important areas.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WEAPONIZE THE RULES BY LOOKING FOR LOOPHOLES TO JUSTIFY TOXIC GAMEPLAY. THIS WON'T BE TOLERATED. KEEP IT FAIR AND FUN AND PLAY BY THE SPIRIT OF THE RULES!
